The advancement of the world in which we live makes the resolution of conflicts of interest more and more complex and requires prepared and qualified professionals in the different fields of law to meet the needs of society. Litigating, advising, defending and even investigating crime and ensuring the safety of people will be some of the activities that you will develop by studying this double degree.

The Dual Bachelor’s dgree in Law and Criminology and Security Sciences at Universidad CEU San Pablo provides you with a complete legal training, while you learn about matters related to private security, prevention, investigation and resolution of criminal acts.

Train for the profession in the most cutting-edge facilities, such as crime and cybersecurity laboratories with the latest technology. In addition, as CEU is concerned that you receive a training of excellence and as complete as possible, you will obtain two complementary degrees to those of the Dual Bachelor’s degree: the Private Detective course and the Bachelor’s degree in Private Security Management. For more than 75 years we have been training jurists who today occupy important positions in the legal field.

Learn with a five-year study program that comprehensively addresses the Spanish legal system with humanistic and forensic science subjects and the mastery of modern technologies applied to investigation.

In this Dual Bachelor’s degree you will obtain two official degrees, but you will also add to your curriculum two extra training courses: Director of Private Security and Private Detective, both approved by the Ministry of Interior and enabling for the performance of the professional function.

In addition to doing internships in the Courts under the supervision of a magistrate or judge, you will visit institutions and organizations such as Penitentiary Centers and the General Commissariat of the Scientific Police, Audiencia Nacional, which will allow you to acquire first-hand knowledge of their operation and will help you to guide your professional future.

The Law School offers multiple opportunities for you to obtain a distinctive and brilliant professional profile: bilingual degrees, the possibility of mobility and studying part of your degree at prestigious universities around the world, International Bilingual Programs with prestigious universities in the United States such as Fordham University (New York), language learning, Program of Excellence and much more.

The School has its own laboratories, unique in Spain, where you can study cases related to ballistics, fingerprinting, forensic hematology... In addition, you will have at your disposal a European Documentation Center endorsed by the European Commission, a library with electronic resources for jurists and a Courtroom to carry out trial simulations.

You will study and learn from a highly qualified and experienced academic and professional teaching personnel.

Collaborate in a social project by solving Pro Bono cases in the CEU Pro Bono Legal Clinic, a training space where you will connect your legal training with the resolution of real cases under the supervision of professors and practicing lawyers.

This Bachelor’s degree does not have external internships in the curriculum, however, all students have the possibility of doing extracurricular internships through the Moncloa Career Office. The duration of the internship may not exceed 50% of the academic year, i.e. 900 hours.

Internships in legal and security companies, we have agreements with the best: J&A Garrigues, Cuatrecasas, Allen & Overy, KPMG, Ashurst, Baker McKenzie, Gómez-Acebo & Pombo and Uría Menéndez, among many others.

Criminology is the science that studies the causes and circumstances of crime, the personality of criminals and the best treatment for their containment.  It focuses on four dimensions: the social control of crime, the crime, the criminal, and the victim. With this Dual Degree, you will be able to become a professional in all this and add another dimension: the legal one.

Read, analyze, interpret, write, and synthesize legal texts and writings in several languages with their specific terminology. To know how to transfer psychological, social, and legal data of criminological relevance to a criminological report. Select data to provide the judge with scientific knowledge.

To know public and private institutions, both national and international, in their genesis, historical evolution and current reality. To understand the legal system and the main actors.

Handle legal sources and databases to obtain legal and criminological information (legal, jurisprudential, doctrinal, and bibliographic). Practice different research techniques, with which to effectively access new legal knowledge in this area.

To develop a critical conscience in any analysis, including that of the legal system. To achieve an integral vision of the human being, in its transcendent dimension, with well-founded and rigorous criteria about society and current culture.

Develop criminal policies focused on society, the victim, the offender and crime prevention. To be able to analyze crime, the offender, and the victim. Interpret criminological information coming from professionals of sciences related to Criminology (Medicine, Psychology, Sociology).
