Your professional future starts long before you graduate.

Design YOUR Future is the CEU Universities program that supports you from the very beginning of your university journey, helping you discover your talents, develop the skills employers are looking for, and get closer to the professional world.

Led by the CEU Employability Comittee and designed in collaboration with Human Resources professionals and leading companies such as Airbus, BBVA, GSK, Vodafone, Ilunion, MAPFRE, Garrigues and Randstad, the program combines training, hands-on experiences, mentoring, and direct contact with professionals.

Because preparing to find a job is important. Learning how to build your own professional future matters even more.

Employability isn’t learned solely in the classroom. That’s why Design YOUR Future combines in-person and digital learning with experiences that will progressively bring you closer to the reality of the business world.

Throughout the program, you will take part in:

Design YOUR Future is delivered over four academic years and a total of 24 ECTS credits (200 hours), combining training, hands-on experiences, mentoring, and direct interaction with companies.

Get to know yourself | 6 ECTS

Every professional journey starts with one essential question: who are you, and what can you contribute?

In this first module, you will work on self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and the interpersonal skills that underpin any career. This isn’t theory; it’s guided, hands-on learning with a personal advisor to help you identify your strengths, areas for improvement, and your first professional goals.

Knowing the job market before entering it is your greatest competitive advantage.

This module gives you a comprehensive view of the professional ecosystem: types of companies, industries, in-demand profiles, digital identity, and active job-search tools.

Through this training, you will learn to interpret the job market critically, analyze career opportunities beyond the job title, and develop a critical perspective on a constantly evolving professional landscape. By the end, you will know not only what career you want to pursue, but also where and why.

Connect | 6 ECTS

Talent needs relationships to turn into opportunities.

Here, preparation becomes action: you will work on your resume, elevator pitch, cover letter, and interview simulations, receiving real professional feedback. This is also where the key figure of the course comes in: your mentor, a working professional who will support you, challenge your goals, and introduce you to their professional network.

By the end, you will have a profile ready to enter a serious recruitment process, as well as connections within the professional world who already know you.

The module takes the form of practical work focused on building a competitive professional profile.

The time has come to turn preparation into a project.

The program culminates in an immersion in the real-world environment of a large company, where corporate culture, agile methodologies, legal frameworks, and digital skills are explored in an integrated way.

You will strengthen your personal brand and develop the strategic perspective you need to make smart career decisions from day one. By the time you graduate, you won’t leave university with just a resume: you’ll leave with a plan.

Everything you need to know about the Design YOUR Future program

Any undergraduate or dual-degree student at the university can enrol in and complete the programme. No admission tests are required.

Registration opens on September 1. You can enroll in the different courses here.

It is included in your CEU tuition fees.

Developed by the Employability Commission of the CEU Employability Advisory Board and designed by future employers, this programme focuses on understanding the labour market and how companies operate.

Each year, you will complete one course: 1. Get to Know Yourself, 2. Get Ready, 3. Connect and 4. Design YOUR Future.


Each course runs over one semester (1st and 4th years: October–November; 2nd and 3rd years: February–March).

Yes. Each year has its own pathway, and you can join the one corresponding to your current year of study. If you start in your second year, you do not need to have completed the first-year course. You can also complete several courses at the same time, provided they correspond to your current academic year and previous years, but never future years.

The programme will be delivered in a blended format, combining in-person and online learning.

The program takes a highly practical approach. You will visit companies and organizations, attend company presentations held in an auditorium, and take part in masterclasses led by presidents and CEOs of leading organizations. You will also participate in Innovation Week, tackling a range of real-world business challenges.

The programme has been designed together with HR leaders and professionals from leading companies to help you develop the skills that organisations demand today. Throughout the programme, you will also hear from alumni in senior leadership positions, as well as company founders and entrepreneurs.

The programme is designed so that you can balance it with your studies.

You must complete it anyway. Although the name is the same, the format has been redesigned and includes content and skills that were not covered in previous editions.

The platform automatically tracks your activity. It records both your progress through the learning content and your participation in programme activities to ensure that you meet the completion requirements. To obtain the certificate/micro-credential, each course concludes with an assessment exam.

You will not be able to obtain the corresponding ECTS credits or the associated micro-credential.

Each of the four courses is worth 6 ECTS. If you complete the full pathway, you will earn:

  • 24 ECTS that can be recognised as elective credits. (Please consult the Virtual Student Office for further information.)
  • More than 200 hours of training.
  • An official programme certificate.
  • Four digital micro-credentials certifying your skills.

They are verifiable digital credentials that certify the skills and knowledge acquired in each course of the programme. You can add them to LinkedIn and your CV, as they are highly valued by employers. You will receive one upon successfully completing each level. Each micro-credential is worth 6 ECTS.

It depends on your degree programme and faculty. We recommend consulting your academic coordinator, although in many cases the credits can be recognised as elective credits.
