Research Ethics Committee

Universidad CEU San Pablo Research Ethics Committee was created with the aim of providing an agile and effective response to current needs, or to those that may arise in the future, with respect to scientific research carried out in its field, with the objective of guaranteeing respect for the dignity, integrity and identity of the human being in the fields of biological and genetic experimentation and scientific research, in order to protect the fundamental rights of people, the good treatment of animals used as experimental models and the environment, integrity and identity of the human being in the fields of biological and genetic experimentation and scientific research, in order to protect the fundamental rights of individuals, the proper treatment of animals used as experimental models and the environment, and to respect the principles and commitments assumed by the scientific community.

Below you will find a number of interesting documents, as well as the required forms to submit an application for the evaluation of projects or research work that require it (including End of Bachelor's Degree and End of Master's Degree projects or doctoral thesis projects), which involve studies on human beings, the use of their personal data or biological samples of human origin, animal testing or the use of biological agents or genetically modified organisms, or which affect the environment, humans or animals.

Research Committee

Universidad CEU San Pablo Research Committee is the internal advisory body in the research field of the Vice-Rectorate for Research and of the University Governing Body. It is chaired by the Vice-Rector for Research and its members are the Deans or Directors of the University centres and the Directors of University institutes. The Director of the Research Results Transfer Office (OTRI) also attends the meetings as Secretary.

Its role includes:
  • Establish the University main research lines, in accordance with the criteria of the Governing Council, the University Board of Trustees and with the Institution's aims.
  • Suggest the Vice-Rector for Research to present proposals to the Governing Council about these matters.
  • Find public and private funding for the research activity.
  • Suggest the conducting of research seminars for the faculty.
  • Gather, if necessary, external reports about the quality of the research carried out with internal financial aid.
  • Propose the carrying out of scientific multidisciplinar conferences, workshops, etc. 
  • Analyse the proposals carried out by the different Research Committees of the Centres.
