Profile of new students

In order to define the ideal profile of new students who wish to access this degree, we take into account the educational objectives that we aim to achieve in three areas:

  • Students. They must have good prior knowledge in subjects of sciences, skills in observation, analysis, and intellectual, social and scientific interests. Moreover, new students must be willing to work hard, both individually and as part of a team. Therefore, in the selection process we pay special attention to the motivation and capabilities of the candidate in relation to the aforementioned concerns. Other attitudes such as initiative, responsibility and the ability to work and solve problems in a team are also important.
  • Future professionals. Upon completion of this degree, students will be professionals with a solid scientific background and with a good level of English for their mobility and incorporation into international professional forums. To this end, more than half of the teaching is in English. In addition, the necessary foundations are also established so that those who wish to do so can access higher studies and specialise in fields such as scientific research, technological development activities, etc.

  • Education. With the aim of subsequently integrating the student into the professional world, this degree is the result of a complete education plan. Among our main objectives, we emphasize independent learning, for which, we motivate the students to carry out experimental designs based on the scientific method and the interpretation of diverse works in this field. We also promote critical analysis, management and direction skills, in addition to focusing on the spirit of leadership.

Regarding requirements of earlier studies, it is preferable for the student to have completed their studies in one of the technological or sanitary branches in their high school.

INTERNATIONALIZATION AT HOME: CEU GLOBAL CLASSROOM AND COIL METHODOLOGY

An international university is also an interconnected university in its broader sense. Therefore, the CEU Educational Group is developing a new educational strategy, based on internationalization at home, through the innovative COIL projects.

COIL is the acronym for Collaborative Online International Learning, a pioneer interactive methodology. It consists of digital classes between professors from two different universities and countries, which allows bringing the experience of global learning to a wider spectrum of students, regardless of their geographical location and without leaving home.

The COIL modules are born from the collaboration of our Schools with other international centers for the development of common digital projects, integrated into the study plans, ensuring that they are adapted to the CEU methodology and to the academic needs of our students.

We have international COIL projects in all the Schools, in our two campuses; partners in the United States, Europe, Latin America, etc. Our experience in pedagogical innovation and internationalization is our best guarantee.

Contact us if you belong to a foreign university and want to be a partner of the USP-CEU in the design and implementation of COIL projects.
