Danone and the University have created the University Classroom Danone-CEU: Feeding
the Change, a
project which
will contribut to the training of future professionals in human nutrition
and dietetics, and
give students the necessary tools for better access to information on
nutrition and sustainability. The project was presented to the Rector, Rosa Visiedo,
by the CEU
USP Nutrition teachers and co-directors of the Classroom, Teresa Partearroyo
and Ana María Montero, together with the Danone Public Affairs Director, Alfredo
Gazpio, and the Head
of Sustainability and Nutrition at Danone Spain, Isabel
Pérez.
The objective of
the University Classroom is to empower students, since in the future they will be responsible for
upon society the
importance of diet in our health, and the impact our diet has on the
planet. Through
the use of new technologies and a variety of activities,
the University Classroom aims
to promote the learning and knowledge of university students in the journey towards a
sustainable and healthy eating model.
"We are convinced that the association between the University and our company is a great
opportunity for students to experience the kind of challenges
they will face as
professionals," says the Head of
Sustainability and Nutrition at Danone Spain. "As a B Corp company, we
are committed to promoting actions with entities that provide new generations
with up-to-date and scientifically-based information in order to advance
towards a healthy and sustainable food system model, thinking about health and
the planet that future generations will inherit", Pérez
concludes.
The
university Classroom will launched this year
and will extend into the 2022 – 2023 academic
year and will involve
the participation of teaching
staff and students of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
