CEU USP and the Princess of Girona Foundation have showcased their strategic partnership through the signing of a collaboration agreement and the organisation of their first joint initiative: an educational event held at the Montepríncipe Campus of CEU USP. The event highlighted the shared commitment of both institutions to educational innovation, the development of young teaching talent, and the promotion of emotional well-being through education and music.
The event demonstrated how the collaboration between the Princess of Girona Foundation and CEU USP is being translated into projects that directly address the concerns of the educational community and young teachers.
Rosa Visiedo, Rector of CEU USP and Director of Strategic University Projects at CEU, expressed her satisfaction with the signing of the agreement and the first joint event. She emphasised that “we share a common vision with the Princess of Girona Foundation: to innovate in order to improve education, to support and enhance young teaching talent, and to place emotional well-being at the heart of learning. Music, as a universal language, also helps us connect with students and create spaces for reflection and personal growth.”
Salvador Tasqué, CEO of the Princess of Girona Foundation and a CEU alumnus from his secondary school years, highlighted that “being able to collaborate with the entire CEU University network is a unique opportunity to bring the Foundation’s educational and emotional well-being projects to one of the most important educational communities in the country.” Tasqué added that “for me, it is also a personal source of pride, having completed my secondary education at one of the schools within this ecosystem, Abat Oliba School.”
A Day to inspire, educate and connect the educational community
The event brought together more than 250 university students from the Degree courses in Primary Education and Psychology, along with faculty members from both disciplines, as well as students from CEU San Pablo Montepríncipe School. The morning combined reflection, training, and purpose-driven music aimed at promoting well-being.
The programme also included a panel discussion on the documentary Generación docentes, following the screening of an excerpt from this audiovisual piece, which follows the daily lives of several young teachers during their placements in innovative rural schools.
During the event, young participants featured in the documentary also shared their academic and personal experiences within this initiative, which promotes young teaching talent through innovative training programmes and practical placements in rural schools across Aragón, Extremadura, Castilla and León, and Galicia.
Music as a tool for education and emotional well-being
The event at CEU USP concluded with the AmplificARTE concert, one of the flagship projects of the Princess of Girona Foundation, supported by Art House Academy. The initiative uses music as a cross-disciplinary tool to foster personal development and emotional well-being among young people, while also promoting musical culture in schools, social organisations, and other settings.
On this occasion, artists involved in the project, such as Luzía Abril, Augusta Tuti, and Anna Sofia, performed alongside singer Sílvia Expósito, who is linked to the Foundation’s Generación Arte programme, which promotes a new generation of emerging young artists. The concert, open to the university community, transformed the Aula Magna at the Montepríncipe Campus into a space for emotional connection and collective reflection through music.
