BU MET's Arts Management programme is aimed at both arts professionals and applicants who do not have the time or resources to pursue a full postgraduate programme or who already have a degree in another field and wish to be cross-trained.

Characteristics of the programme

This programme, taught by Boston University faculty, offers a unique opportunity to develop professional experience in the field of the Arts through project management activities, while fostering opportunities for collaboration with industry professionals and leading institutions in the Arts world.

Students have access to the full resources of the department, including an extensive network of visual and performing arts organisations and the university's internship and employment services.

In addition to specialising in arts management at an American university, students will demonstrate language proficiency, initiative, independence and a different kind of experience.

Upon completion of the programme and graduation from CEU, the student obtains a postgraduate certificate: "Graduate Certificate in Arts Management" issued by Boston University.

The School - Metropolitan College

Structure

During the second semester of their 4th year of undergraduate studies at CEU (or 5th year of a double degree), students in the programme will take the following courses in Boston:

  • The Art World
  • Financial Management for Nonprofits
  • Legal Issues in Arts Administration
  • One elective course

Methodology

Students on the programme benefit from two distinct and complementary educational methods which, combined, provide them with a global vision and an ability to adapt that will be highly valued when it comes to entering the job market.
