CEU San Pablo University (CEU USP) and The Adecco Group have joined forces to create the CEU-The Adecco Group Chair, a strategic alliance aimed at bridging the gap between the academic and business worlds, and reducing the mismatch between the skills demanded by the job market and the training of university students.
The initiative is driven by a clear service-oriented mission: to boost the development of young talent, promote quality employability, and generate knowledge about skills. Under the leadership of Ángel Bartolomé and Sonia Martín, and with the support of a multidisciplinary team of teachers and researchers, the Chair positions itself as a point of reference for studying and transferring knowledge on employment and human resources.
The CEU-The Adecco Group Chair includes an ambitious plan of activities. These include scientific publications, awareness-raising events, and training in transversal skills, as well as the goal of facilitating meetings with leading companies, promoting research scholarships, and developing tools for employability.
This initiative arises in a context marked by the constant evolution of the labor environment. According to data from the World Economic Forum, 39% of key skills will change before 2030, making a curricular update aimed at training professionals capable of adapting to complex, volatile, and interconnected scenarios urgent.
The mission of this chair will be to gradually reduce this gap by bringing educational institutions closer to the work environment through competency-based training with a practical and market-oriented vision. It is a new step toward a university more connected to the reality of the professional world and serving a young, talented, and future-oriented generation.
For Iker Barricat, President of The Adecco Group Spain, this alliance, “represents a firm commitment to the future of young people. As a leading company in the human resources market, we feel the responsibility to contribute to solving the challenges of the Spanish labor market, especially youth unemployment. Every year we help over 35,000 young people find employment, and this collaboration with CEU San Pablo University will allow us to continue bringing the world of employment closer to young people, equipping them with the necessary tools and skills for their labor market integration.”
On the other hand, the rector of CEU USP, Rosa Visiedo, states that the institution’s goal is, "to help students find quality jobs, but also to ensure they bring value to companies from the very first moment." In this sense, she adds, “This Chair is another step in our commitment to our students, which will allow us to stay up-to-date on the real needs of the professional field and provide them with new skills that favor their labor integration, with quality employment.”
Finally, Encarna Maroño, Director of People and Culture at The Adecco Group, believes that, “this Chair is a unique opportunity to connect young talent with the real needs of the job market. At The Adecco Group, we firmly believe in the importance of developing both technical and transversal skills that enable young people to adapt to a constantly changing work environment. This partnership will allow us to work hand in hand with CEU San Pablo University to create innovative and relevant training programs that prepare students for the challenges of the future.”
This Chair aligns with the shared values of both entities; comprehensive training, inclusion, equity, ethics, innovation, and social responsibility.
