Institute of Applied Molecular Medicine (IMMA)

Research Areas Activities
Immunopathology Coordinated by Professors Domingo Barber and Maria Escribese, the programme focuses on the study of the processes associated with allergic inflammation and related diseases. With four FIS projects and one European project, as well as several private competitive projects and agreements with companies, the research team includes twenty researchers working on different projects related to allergy. Domingo Barber is coordinator of a RETIC ARADyAL programme.
Bone metabolism Coordinated by Professors Arancha Rodriguez de Gortazar and Juan Antonio Ardura e, the research programme focuses on studying the mechanisms associated with bone metabolism, osteoporosis and bone metastasis. With projects from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, the team is made up of ten researchers.
Neuro-degeneration and neuro-protection. Coordinated by Professor Jose Luis Lavandera, and made up of eight researchers, this programme studies the molecular and physiopathological bases of neurodegenerative diseases and advances in the elucidation of new mechanisms of action and therapeutic targets.

Contemporary History of Spain Research project "Spain, cradle of war correspondents: a consequence of the internationalisation of the First Carlist War". Qualification B in the call for Research Challenges 2019, reference RTI2018-097220-b-100 (pending final resolution). Recipient of a grant in the framework of the III Convocatoria de Ayudas a Proyectos en Consolidación CEU-Banco Santander until August 2019, amounting to 3000 euros. Activities carried out in the framework of the research: web and app, 3 training seminars, web, app, 6 microvideos, publications (article and book chapter), trademark registration of the acronym ESCUR (identifying the research group of the project) and the name CORRESPONSALES DE GUERRA.
