Transfer of university records

The transfer of university records allows students to continue their studies at CEU San Pablo University with recognition of credits previously obtained. The admission process for transferring records from other universities involves an assessment of the student's personal and academic curriculum. In most cases, it includes an individual interview.

During the process, it will be necessary to prepare a provisional report on credit recognition (cost €150). To be eligible for this route, at least 30 credits must be validated.

The higher education model at CEU San Pablo University is based on personalized monitoring, Christian humanist values, solidarity, and teamwork. For this reason, only transfers of academic records from one university to another that do not involve the recognition or validation of more than 144 credits are accepted.

Documents you will need to transfer your academic record

Final admission will take place when you submit your academic documentation stamped or certified copies by mail or in person.

In the case of studies completed outside the European Union, documents must be legalized by means of the Hague Apostille or via diplomatic channels. If this documentation is not provided before the start of the course, the validations will not be effective.

Transcript and documentation relating to studies completed to date.

Curriculum for the degree program and number of credits

Curriculum for the degree program completed, indicating the number of credits for each course and, in the case of Basic Training courses, the corresponding area of knowledge.

Credit recognition

How credit recognition works when transferring academic records

Credit recognition is an academic process carried out by the relevant faculty, which evaluates the content, course load, and correspondence with the CEU San Pablo University curriculum.

  • The study is individual and personalized.
  • There is no automatic recognition.
  • The provisional report is for guidance and academic purposes (cost: €150).

Once the documentation has been submitted, it is reviewed by the university team and sent to the corresponding faculty after payment for the report has been made.

Approximate time frame: up to 3 weeks from the approval of the documentation.

This procedure ensures that the transfer of university records is carried out in a clear and efficient manner and in accordance with the university's academic quality criteria. It also allows for the transfer of records to another university, giving fair recognition to credits already obtained and facilitating the continuity of studies without any loss of time.

These are some of the most common questions asked by students requesting a transfer.

It depends. Some degree programs have a deadline. On the other hand, if all transfer places for a degree program are filled, the transfer admission process for that degree program will be closed. In any case, we recommend that you contact our admissions team.

In order to gain admission through credit recognition, at least 30 credits must be validated.
Similarly, applications involving the recognition or validation of more than 60% of the credits for the degree program to be studied will not be accepted, nor will applications that include subjects failed in the fourth and final exam session.

The transfer admission process for international students is the same. However, academic documentation must be duly legalized in order for validations to be applied.
Once the validation report has been accepted, documents that are not from the European Union must be duly legalized by the Hague Apostille or through diplomatic channels. Documents from the European Union must be duly stamped by the university of origin. If this documentation is not provided before the start of the course, the validations will not be effective.

A fee of €40 will be charged for each credit recognized, payable in a single installment in January. Credits earned at any CEU University belonging to the Foundation will be free of charge.
