The Faculty of
Pharmacy has held the Introductory Session of the COIL (collaborative online
international learning) project titled 'Your Career Opportunities Worldwide.
Learning from the experience and personal view of professionals in the sector',
promoted by the Vice President for Internationalization of the University. In
this collaboration with the Università degli Studi di Torino (Italy) and
Coventry University (UK), students are being offered an international
experience through which they will learn first-hand how the most important
career opportunities in the pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and nutrition and
dietetics sectors are changing in different countries.
A total of 102
students and 38 professors from the Pharmacy, Biotechnology, and Nutrition and
Dietetics degrees of the three Universities are participating in this COIL. Additionally,
more than 70 professionals--working in more than 60 institutions in 10
different countries--will take part.
During the
introductory session, the COIL organizers Carmen Pérez García, Carolina
Hurtado, Paola Otero, Elena Alonso, María Achón, and Mª del Pilar Ramos
informed the students of the activities programmed throughout the second
semester:
·
Lectures given by leading experts in each
professional sector, in which they will give participants an insider’s
perspective of their sector and explain how to land a job in it.
·
Student interviews with professionals
from different fields related to their degree. For this, the students will work
in international teams of students from the 3 participating universities.
·
An International conference in which
students will give presentations on various professional opportunities. In
addition, this conference will include several plenary sessions, round tables
on entrepreneurship, leadership and innovation, and job search workshops
(personal branding, LinkedIn, CV). The conference will be held on July 3rd and
will be open to all interested people (students, professionals, and graduates)
from inside and outside the participating universities.
In the COIL
introductory session, the founders of the Farma Leaders Talento platform, Inés
Martínez Bragado and Irene Campo-Frías have also participated, organizing
several activities that promoted student interaction and knowledge of the
culture of the participating countries.
