The Objectives of the Agreement

This agreement is the foundation for supporting and guiding medical students during their training period, while also involving them in student activity. This collaboration will provide new doctors with the opportunity to access information, activities of interest for their professional development, as well as calls for scholarships, grants and awards, conferences and continuing academic courses, a legal advice service, and even join the ICOMEM promotions programme. Students who wish to be part of this collaboration must formalise their registration with their personal student card.

During his speech at the signing, Dr. Manuel Martínez-Sellés emphasised that thanks to this agreement we have the opportunity to work together to strengthen the professional training of future doctors in Madrid. "I am convinced of the mutual benefit that this agreement will bring both to students in their professional and academic development, as they will be able to access information, activities of interest and University services, as well as to all the institutions involved, allowing us to train them in a positive environment and to promote the values of medical professionalism".

For her part, the Rector, Rosa Visiedo, referred to this agreement as "unique, unprecedented, in which there is an alliance between all the medical schools of the Community of Madrid and the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid". In this sense, she pointed out that "we have an enormous responsibility to train our future doctors. It is important to stress the importance of the role of the Medical Associations. We are convinced of the importance of this event, which will bring together the students of our Schools and, most likely, their future professional academic institution, the Illustrious Official College of Physicians of Madrid. We congratulate and thank Professor Manuel Martinez Selles and his Board of Directors for having launched this initiative".
