This first lecture, held in the newly opened IBM Classroom for Digital Transformation at CEU San Pablo University, was preceded by the signing of the collaboration agreement between the San Pablo CEU University Foundation and IBM.  This event boasted the participation of Javier Tello, general director of the CEU Educational Group, and Rosa Visiedo, rector of the CEU San Pablo University, representing the academic institution; as well as that of Ignacio Niharra, Public Sector Government Cluster Leader, and Pilar Villacorta, University Relations Leader, along with Javier Olaizola, representing the technology company IBM.

With the signing of this agreement, both institutions inaugurate a collaboration aimed at promoting the use and knowledge of technology in business case studies in given industries, such as those of the Public Sector, Telecommunications and the Financial Sector.

“IBM has among its objectives to bring technology closer to the service of one and all. One of our main responsibilities is to encourage and promote joint projects between companies and the academic world. We are convinced that there are no bad ideas and that new creators inspire change in unexpected places and that is why we push hard with our motto 'Let's create'. This agreement, which we have signed and which we have inaugurated with this first student event, is a clear example of this commitment and this philosophy: to support the development of new digital skills in order to see together what the brightest and most creative minds can do in the future.”,explained Javier Olaizola.

For Rosa Visiedo, "this collaboration reinforces our commitment to technological innovation so that our students develop their full potential and can contribute with their talent to the improvement of society". In this respect, the USP CEU rector explained that"learning new skills, complementary to their curricular knowledge, will offer new possibilities for companies to employ young people trained in emerging technologies."

Within the framework of this collaboration, IBM has planned a series of training sessions that will take place throughout this academic year. In these, case studies from the fields of the Public and Financial Sectors will be addressed, in addition to others focused on training in technology and business in the Telecommunications Sector.

These sessions will be led by IBM experts, who will also provide the company's tools during the courses for training and carrying out case studies. Students will also have access to learning programs such as IBM SkillsBuild and IBM Academic Initiative.  All of this will allow students to learn about the world of technology consulting.
