Universidad CEU San
Pablo and MAPFRE have signed a collaboration agreement and have inaugurated the
Aula CEU-MAPFRE at the Faculty of Economics and Business. This learning space
aims to attract and promote the talent of university students in the financial
sector while, at the same time, being a forum for the development of skills and
abilities which will aid student insertion in the labour market.
Over the coming
months, the Aula CEU-MAPFRE will offer presentations, round tables and
conferences on topics such as financial planning, savings strategies, financial
training and taxation, and more.
The collaboration agreement
has been signed by Rocío Aragonés, Director of People and Organisation at
MAPFRE Iberia; and Rosa Visiedo and Carmen García de Elías, Rector and Manager
of the university, respectively.
MAPFRE Iberia´s Director
of People and Organization, Rocio Aragonés, commented that “we are committed to
education in finance as a fundamental pillar for the development of a more
informed and responsible society. This agreement with the Universidad CEU San
Pablo allows us to provide young people with key tools for managing their
personal finances and savings strategies. Through the Universities Plan, we
contribute our business experience to training them in this area, helping them
to make financial decisions based on knowledge and a vision for the future.”
For her part, the Rector
of the university, Rosa Visiedo, said that “the Aulas CEU-Business initiative
aims to generate a bigger and better alliance between our university and businesses.
The ultimate goal is to improve training and to strengthen the relationship
with the business world and, consequently, to maximize the employability of our
students. The collaboration is a win-win for both parties.”
The signing of the
agreement was attended, on behalf of the University, by the Vice-Rector for
Students and University Life, Ángel Bartolomé; the Dean of the Faculty, Ricardo
Palomo; and the Vice-Dean of the Faculty and coordinator of the Aula CEU-MAPFRE
, Isabel Lima. MAPFRE was represented at the event by their expert on
Universities and Knowledge Management, Alberto Quilez; their Director of
Training and Knowledge Management, Sergio Sánchez; and their Corporate Director
of Leadership and Culture, Elvira Arango.
Commitment to employability
With its commitment
to employability, CEU continues to stride ahead in its dedication to students
and their professional future through a range of projects aimed at
strengthening the alliance between companies and the university. To this end, Universidad
CEU San Pablo has created a genuine university-business ecosystem with
initiatives such as the Aulas CEU-Business, through which students receive
complementary training while taking their first steps in the workplace. The
Aula CEU-MAPFRE joins the more than 40 Aulas CEU-Business which have been
established across the five Faculties and the Institute of Technology.
