This week, the University has launched an institutional visit to several cities across the United States with the aim of strengthening its international academic partnerships and further expanding educational opportunities for its students. The agenda began in Boston, one of the world’s leading university hubs.
The delegation was led by the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, Ainhoa Uribe, accompanied by her Deputy, Professor Natalia del Barrio, and by Julio Sevillano, Academic Coordinator of the international programmes developed in collaboration with Boston University.
The delegation was received at Boston University’s Metropolitan College by Tanya Zlateva, Dean of the College; Lou Chitkushev, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; Irena
Vodenska, Professor and Director of Financial Programs and Chair of the Department of Administrative Sciences; Roxolana Sawchuk, Executive Director of Marketing; and Neus Codina, Executive Director of MET International.
During the meeting, the joint CEU–Boston University programmes were reviewed within the framework of an academic collaboration spanning more than 20 years. This longstanding partnership has enabled numerous CEU USP students to pursue international studies in one of the world’s most prestigious academic environments.
The visit also included academic follow-up of the 17 University students who have recently joined Boston University from degree programmes such as Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematical Engineering, and other courses offered by the Polytechnic School. These students began their orientation programme earlier this week.
From January to August, participants will undertake four months of academic training in English, followed by three months of professional placements in companies operating in the fields of Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, and applied technologies. Throughout this period, they will be supported by Julio Sevillano, Coordinator of the bilingual degree programmes in Pharmacy and Biotechnology.
Within this framework, the CEU–Boston University Programme, promoted by the CEU Group (CEU USP, CEU UAO and CEU UCH), currently enables students from the Faculties of Law, Economics, Communication Sciences and Humanities, Pharmacy, and the Polytechnic School to complement their education in Spain with Graduate Certificates and Advanced Graduate Certificates awarded by Boston University.
This institutional visit reaffirms the University’s commitment to high-quality internationalisation, consolidating a long-standing strategic partnership with Boston University and offering its students high-value academic and professional experiences within a leading international university environment.
