More than 2,000 students from the University celebrated the end of their studies with their classmates, teachers and family members, looking back on their time together and the friendships they had formed. Eight graduation ceremonies were held in total, corresponding to all the degrees offered by the Law School, the School of Economics and Business Studies, the School of Humanities and Communication Sciences, the School of Medicine, the School of Pharmacy, and the Higher Polytechnic School.
The sponsors of this year's graduation ceremonies were Jesús Morales Arruga, director of 20 Minutos; José Carlos Bermejo Higuera, director of the San Camilo Centre for the Humanisation of Health; Ernesto Marco Carmena, president of the Spanish Society of Low Vision Specialists; Celia García Menéndez, Director General of Humanisation, Patient Care and Safety of the Community of Madrid; José Moisés Martín Carretero, Director General of the Centre for Technological Development and Innovation (CEDETI); Ana Requena Flores, CEO of Randstad; Amelia Pérez Zabaleta, Dean of the Madrid College of Economists; and Jesús Remón Peñalver, Partner and President of Uría Menéndez.
The Rector of the University, Rosa Visiedo, who presided over the graduation ceremony, congratulated the students on reaching this milestone. 'Do not be afraid; fear is a thief of opportunities. Trust in who you are, what you know and what you can become. If there is one thing I want you to take away from the CEU San Pablo University, it is the certainty that you are prepared, and have acquired the skills, knowledge and values to develop your life project and make it solid and meaningful."
Visiedo assured the graduates that they are prepared not only to practise a profession, but also to lead with integrity, transform with empathy and inspire with authenticity. “Keep learning always. Live with purpose and serve."
She concluded by thanking them all "for being part of this community. For your dedication, energy and trust. Today you say goodbye as students, but you will always remain part of this great CEU family; you will always remain university alumni".
