CEU San Pablo University and The Adecco Group, world leader in human resources management, as part of their commitment to promoting training and junior employment, have signed an agreement to promote student employability through participation in the Aula CEU-Business project.

With the aim of achieving the best employability for students and reducing youth unemployment, this initiative has created an authentic link between the university and business worlds. Teaching spaces are used to promote and strengthen collaboration between the academic and professional environments. This project, which began this academic year and is being implemented in all faculties, allows students to receive complementary training while taking their first steps into the job market.

As a result of this agreement, The Adecco Group is participating in the Aula CEU-Business project using a dedicated space in the School of Humanities and Communication Sciences: the so-called Aula Adecco. The sessions will focus on the development of student talent, generating real experiences in skills assessment. The training activities include workshops on the development of soft skills, understanding of new assessment methodologies and knowledge about the company and its professional objectives, found within the Values and Leadership module.

This programme integrates both theoretical and practical aspects of learning to provide students participating in Aula Adecco with the option of becoming part of the company’s team, where they will be able to carry out work experience.

The launch of Aula Adecco marks a further step in the collaboration between the University and the The Adecco Group, as well as offering University facilities to organisations who want to train students in the specific skills which respond to their business needs and new sources of talent recruitment.

In the words of Iker Barricat, CEO of The Adecco Group Spain: "As a leading company in the HR market and one of the largest employers in the country, we feel we have a  responsibility to contribute to society and solve the challenges of the Spanish labour market and one of these, perhaps the most important one, is youth unemployment. Every year the Adecco Group helps more than 35,000 young people to find a job, for many of them their first job. But we always want to go one step further which is why we are continuing to expand our collaboration with the CEU San Pablo University, with the goal of bringing the job market closer to young people and helping them face it with more and better tools".

Rosa Visiedo, Rector of the University, stated that "we want to train the people that our society needs, that the business world demands from us, people who are capable of leading change, who are committed to improving our world. We have an unavoidable commitment to employment, which is why we want to be close to companies, to listen to them and to find out what they want from our students". She pointed out that undoubtedly, "these spaces will help to boost their talent, as our students will have the great opportunity to work with Adecco professionals and generate real experiences".
