“Clinical Trials Management” Programme graduates

"The bilingual programme has not only been a five-year degree, but it is accompanying me in my next steps. As I approached the end of my degree, I noticed how the teachers were changing from a source of information to mentors... This programme has allowed me to meet professionals in the field at an international level, personalities recognised worldwide, a luxury that not all recent pharmacists have".

"I am infinitely grateful for having been able to enjoy this experience that has trained me and provided me with very good professional contacts, international friends and incredible experiences".

"This programme brings together the values and rigour of one of the best Schools of Pharmacy in Spain with the excellence and recognition of one of the best universities in the world, a boost to an international biomedical career... The faculty at both institutions is excellent and show a very high commitment to the programme, always being available to the student... The stay in Chicago, in the last year of the programme, introduces you to a different education system, and allows you to have an international career and meet very interesting people".

The opportunity to live in Chicago and study at such a prestigious university has helped us to grow both personally and professionally.

We have been able to learn in depth about the functioning and importance of clinical trials thanks to the magnificent teaching staff who have always been willing to help us. In addition, the electives offered have been very interesting, so we have been able to delve deeper into topics that we would not have imagined.

Having been able to experience first-hand the American education system has awakened in us a lot of curiosity to see how working in a different way you can acquire so much knowledge.

Finally, the closeness and attention that all the people who are part of this programme have always shown us have made us get to know their culture and their city better, making us feel at home at all times. At the same time, I would like to thank the coordinators of the bilingual programme for their help both before and during our stay in Chicago.

We are very lucky to have our university offer us such an enriching experience. I will always be very grateful.

Last term I had the opportunity to take the clinical trials course at the University of Chicago, which was one of the best experiences I have had during my degree. This course complements perfectly the pharmacy degree and I think it is a degree that offers us many job opportunities in the clinical trials sector both in Europe and in the United States. Besides, apart from the academic aspect, Chicago is an impressive city, full of places to see, such as the famous "Bean", skyscrapers up to 103 stories high, the Navy Pier, as well as museums for all tastes such as the Museum of Art or the Museum of Industry and Science. Although there is a lot to visit in the city, this experience also offers the opportunity to visit other cities and states, as in my case I visited New Orleans, Orlando, Miami and California.

Irene Barajas Zapata
