Dentistry

It is considered appropriate that the student has a personal profile that includes a vocation for service in health activities. Likewise, it is recommended that the applicant possesses:  

• Manual dexterity since the dental profession requires it.  
• Knowledge in basic sciences such as Chemistry and Biology corresponding to the second year of Baccalaureate, therefore, it is recommended that students have completed the option of Baccalaureate in Health Sciences (or the equivalent in force at the time of admission).  
• Teamwork skills.  
• Interest in science and research.  
• Capacity for work, attention, and concentration.  
• Capacity for analysis and synthesis.  
• Logical reasoning.  
• Rigor and attention to detail.  
• Sensitivity to social problems and attention to others.  
• Personal initiative and entrepreneurial spirit.  
• The following admission criteria apply to them:  
• Academic record (60%)  

The academic record obtained in high school will be valued:

• Competency Test (40% specific part, Pass/Fail general part):
  The competency test has a specific part of Biology and Chemistry contents and a more general part comprising 40 questions and measures three general competences and social desirability. It assesses interpersonal competences (capacity for self-criticism, teamwork, autonomous work, relationship with others and empathy), instrumental competences (capacity for analysis, synthesis, organization, planning, verbal expression, written expression), systemic competences (capacity to apply theory to practice, leadership, innovation) and, in addition, a series of items to measure social desirability. 
• Personal interview: Following a standardized protocol for the University, it has a double orientation, academic and personal, it is also the instrument to ensure the language level in case of not having any document accrediting the level.
