This degree is aimed at training and preparing future professionals for the active development of their competences in the areas of cinema, television, and radio or multimedia environments, all of them in constant technological evolution.

This, our students go into the depths of various areas in the audiovisual media such as script writing, sound, editing, producing, oral skills, technical skills for the media or audiovisual companies management.

Our University strives for academic and professional excellence as well as a comprehensive preparation for our students: quality in teaching, innovation, research, internships and internationalization, besides something which is essential: full employment for our students.

We also offer our students simultaneous degrees with Journalism and Advertising and Public Relations respectively.


This degree is target at the School of Humanities and Communication Sciences at Universidad San Pablo CEU, one of the institutions with longer tradition in Communication Sciences rooted at the first School of Journalism in Spain, the one that started with the Spanish Journal El Debate (1926).

The development of the audiovisual sector in recent years (the expansion in TV offer with the Terrestrial Digital Television (TDT), the expansion of video and internet and the multimedia devices, mobile phones and tablets; the companies demand more and more specialized professionalism this area, with sound theoretical and practical skills in new technologies.

The acquisition of this knowledge guarantees our students of Audiovisual Communication the best preparation for the professional world in the XXIst century.


Our academic offer has been built throughout long years’ experience in pedagogic innovation and adaptation to the constant demands that society poses. This is why our degrees are apt for a global world and follow teaching and learning model of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).


To define the suitable profile of the new students who want to do this degree, the final goals of it should be considered in three different areas:

  1. Students. They must have social and intellectual aspiration. They should be ready for individual and teamwork.
    The selections process is especially focused on interactive and dialogue skills in candidates. Besides, applicants to study this degree must have a special interact in understanding the world and the global society where they live and being used to following the news information. As far as the skills required, aptitude related to oral and writing skills in any type of support as well as creative skills, the ones at their disposal to build a new fair , solidary and democratic social environment.
  2. Future professionals. Students must have a sound scientific preparation. At the end of their degree, they should be master the professional language and be able to understand the basic map of concepts concerning their profession. This formation must be, therefore, essential and systematic so that the fundamental concepts of every subject have to be understood. At the same time it is also important that students understand that subjects are not isolated compartments but are part of a plan or a global system of knowledge.
  3. Formation. Formation will be comprehensive, which means that it must be dogmatic, theoretical and systematic – but also practical. In this sense some basic skills are developed: reading comprehension, understanding texts and reports, writing and oral skills.

    A special stress is put on the service to society and dialogue with the practice of interactive learning.
    In short, the fact that the students are prepared in other degrees preferably in Social Sciences and Law will be valued to achieve the educational goals planned.
